Mark Castillo Drowns 3 Children in Hotel Bathroom
He called police from the front desk of the hotel to report the children’s deaths. Police found the bodies of the children – Anthony, 6, Austin, 4, and Athena, 2 – inside the hotel room with their father. Mark was taken to the hospital for treatment of the self-inflicted cuts on his neck.
The motive for killing the children is still unclear although court records show that Mark has threatened to kill the kids in the past.
Amy Castillo filed for a protective order in December of 2006 and claimed Mark had threatened to kill their children to make her suffer. She requested that the order be permanent but a judge denied the request saying there was no evidence of abuse.
Mark Castillo will be charged after he is released from the hospital. He has no previous criminal record.
