Wal-Mart de Mexico SA B de CV (OTC:WMMVY) will release the first quarter earnings for 2008 on Tuesday, April 8.
Formerly Wal-Mart de Mexico S.A., WMMVY is a subsidiary of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc (NYSE:WMT). The retail chain operator in Mexico, the company operates 893 commercial units in 139 cities in Mexico. Sam’s Club, a chain of 77 stores, offers wholesale prices to hits members. Bodega Aurrera, a cahin of 258 discount grocery stores is also a part of WMMVY. The Wal-Mart Supercenter has 118 hypermarkets, offering clothes, cosmetics, food, electronics and toys, in addition to other products. Superama operats 60 supermarkets in residential areas and offers fresh and frozen foods, canned goods, dairy products and other basic groceries. Suburbia, a chain of 62 stores, sells clothes, footwear and accessories, targeting middle class families.
WMMVY’s company’s restaurant chains, Vips and El Porton, operate 318 locations in 59 cities. The restaurants offer Mexican dishes and low calorie and low sugar meals.
