Human Genome Sciences (Nasdaq: HGSI) $24.13. Today announced the presentation of additional results from BLISS-76, one of two pivotal Phase 3 trials of BENLYSTA (belimumab) in seropositive patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The additional data will be presented in Vancouver at the 9th International Congress on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus on Friday and Saturday, June 25-26.

“The BLISS-76 Phase 3 results presented at the International Congress on SLE include new data showing that belimumab treatment, consistent with its mechanism of action, resulted in selective and significantly greater reductions in levels of B-cell and plasma B-cell subsets, with significant preservation of memory B-cells,” said William W. Freimuth, M.D., Ph.D., Vice President, Clinical Research – Immunology, Rheumatology and Infectious Diseases, HGS. “Importantly, belimumab did not significantly affect the ability of SLE patients to maintain a protective response to vaccines, a finding that is consistent with the preservation of memory B-cells.”

What They Do: The mission of HGS is to apply great science and great medicine to bring innovative drugs to patients with unmet medical needs.

LRAD Corporation (Nasdaq: LRAD) $1.20. Today announced it has received the latest in a series of LRAD 1000X orders from the U.S. Navy under Block 0 of the Shipboard Protection System multi-year contract issued by Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division to LRAD Corporation in October 2007. The $463,000 order is scheduled to ship next quarter.

LRAD Corporation's proprietary directed AHDs enable military forces to determine the intent of potential threats at safe distances, providing time and distance to employ a measured response to a threat's actions. The superior voice intelligibility and clarity of the LRAD 1000X provides a highly directional broadcast that achieves maximum sound projection and penetration beyond 3,000 meters. Through the use of powerful voice commands and deterrent tones, the LRAD 1000X creates increased standoff and safety zones, supports peaceful conflict resolution, and potentially prevents the use of deadly force.

What They Do: LRAD Corporation's Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) directional sound systems are being used around the world in diverse applications including, fixed and mobile military deployments, maritime security, critical infrastructure and perimeter security, commercial security, border and port security, law enforcement and emergency responder communications, and wildlife preservation and control.
