The Mother of all Sales Funnel started innocently enough, with a little "report."
A Free Report, of course, that I picked up off the internet. I don't remember a lot about this free report, except that it must have been good, because shortly thereafter, a little further on into this mysterious sales funnel, I was willing to lay down some of my hard earned cash to actually buy something from this guy.
Now listen very carefully, because when I talk about "this guy" in this article, I mean the guy who was able to build the Mother of All Sales Funnels - the sales funnel that would take me from a cheap, freebie seeking college dropout to a multi millionaire, willing to pay $40,000 to attend a weeklong mastermind session on Sir Richard Branson's private island...twice.
I should note that I got married on that island the second time around, with Sir Richard in my wedding party and "this guy" as my best man. In fact, if it hadn't been for "this guy" I might never made it to this island and never gotten married. Now, THAT'S a sales funnel for you. Here's what happened.
So, the next thing I bought from this guy's sales funnel was a marketing guide of some kind - honestly I can't even remember what it was, but it cost me about $7. Big spender, there! Wow. Anyway, I was just over the lip of the sales funnel at that point, and I couldn't really see how big it was, how deep it went.
So, innocently enough, I grabbed his next offer for an e-book...I think that put me in the hole for about $27.
What turned out to be to Mother of all Sales Funnels now had me firmly in it's grasp. I read the e-book (and, it was really good). I was able to use several of the key points from this e-book to improve my business to the point where I could afford taking the next step into his sales funnel. The next step was a complete course for about $497.
Ok, nothing too scary there. But I still didn't see it.
You see, this guy's sales funnel wasn't just big. This sales funnel was Gi-nourmous. And it was just getting started. The crazy thing is, the further I went into his sales funnel, the more I wanted to keep going. Why? Well, straight out, because it made me more money, every time I went further into it.
This sales funnel wasn't just taking me for a ride, you see...it was doing me some real good financially - enough good that I could take another step down it's slippery slope, and attend a conference with this guy as speaker, at a price tag of about $1997.
Ok, now notice, in just a few months, over the course of a year, I had gone from paying exactly nothing for this guy's stuff, to being willing to dish out $2000 at a pop - without batting an eye.
Can you imagine creating a sales funnel that not only offered customers bigger and bigger price tags for things along the way, but that very sales funnel actually made it possible for those same customers to pay you the bigger price tags?
Because that's how this guy's sales funnel worked. The further I went down it, the more I could afford, because he was actually showing me how to make more money using my system of listbuilding and email marketing.
Ok, so let's cut to the chase - and the further end of the sales funnel. Here, at this end, I am now paying $25,000 a year (every year) to attend this guy's "mastermind group." After laying down the cash for that, I was more than willing (and able) to take the next step down the sales funnel...
And that's how I ended up paying $40,000 (twice) for a ticket to go to Sir Richard Branson's private island, and "network" with other entrepreneurs like me (who also of course were also in his sales funnel, and each paid this guy $40,000 to attend).
Now, if that's not the Mother of all Sales Funnels, I'd like you to show me a better one.
As I was to see later, this sales funnel actually HAS no end. It's infinite, and endless. And that, my friend, is on heck of a sales funnel. You don't get much bigger than "infinite."
And who was the guy who created this "infinite sales funnel?" Joe Polish. And how exactly did I make the kind of money that allows me to spend $25k on his mastermind group, and $40k to go to Sir Richard's island? Just click the link below and you'll find out.
