Harrison "Hardbody" Norris, a former WCW professional wrestler, was sentenced to life Tuesday for leading a sex trafficking ring in Georgia.
Norris, 42, ran a scheme to force women into prostitution, prosecutors said. Norris would tell women many of whom were poor, homeless or addicted to drugs, that he would assist them in becoming female professional wrestlers, but would coerce them into becoming prostitutes for him.
For several of the women, Norris would bail them out of jail and use their debt to coerce them into prostitution.
Norris was convicted last November in federal court of 24 counts including conspiracy, commercial sex trafficking and witness tampering.
Four other people were previously sentenced in the case, two for having roles in the scheme and two for lying to investigators.
Cedric Jackson, 41, was sentenced to five years in prison and Aimee Allen, 37, received two years and 10 months for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking.
Leslie Smith, 22, and Michell Achuff, 25, who admitted that they provided false information to protect Norris, each received three years of probation.
