Mariah Carey surpassed Elvis Presley's solo record for the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 on Tuesday with her hit song "Touch My Body".
Carey's recent hit "Touch My Body" is her 18th No. 1 single, second only to the Beatles. The song also is No. 1 on Billboard's digital download chart with a precedent-setting 286,000 downloads in its debut week.
Madonna also beat a Presley record this week, surpassing Elvis for the most top 40 hits with her 37th for her hit song "4 Minutes."
"Touch My Body" is the first single off of Carey's upcoming album "E=MC2," due out April 16. Her previous album, the Grammy-winning CD "The Emancipation of Mimi," was released in 2005. The LP was 2005's best-selling album with five million copies sold.
