The Daiei, Inc (TYO:8263) will release the fourth quarter earnings for 2008 on Thursday, April 10.
Japan based, The Daiei is engaged in the retail business. The company operates within three business segments through its subsidiaries and associates. Retail is engaged in the operation of general merchandise stores, supermarkets, discount stores, departmental stores and various specialty stores for books, women’s clothing and shoes. Finance is engaged in the credit sale business, the sale of financial products and other financing and lease businesses. The Others segment is engaged in the operation of commercial facilities, the leasing of real estate and the leisure business. It is also involved in the processing of food, the provision of information processing and freight transportation services, as well as the importing and wholesale businesses through its subsidiaries.
The company dissolved is Aomori based wholly owned subsidiary on November 29, 2007 and divested its subsidiary, OMC Card, Inc on February 8, 2008.
