Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama padded his campaign cash fund with an additional $40 million in the month of March, that according to an announced made by his campaign on Thursday.
The money comes at a great time for Obama as he focuses his campaign on Pennsylvania where a victory in the state’s primaries on April 22 could knock Hillary Clinton out of the race and earn Obama the nomination.
While the $40 million raised is impressive it is a drop from the $55 million the Illinois senator raised in February. Despite the drop the amount raised is expected to be more than twice what Clinton was able to raise. Clinton won’t release her figures until April 20.
