The Jayhawks took control of the game from the beginning with a 14-2 run. They got 4 alley-oop passes in the first 9 minutes and made 7 three pointers, taking a 41-22 lead going into halftime.
The Jayhawks beat Davidson in a 59-57 victory, reaching the Final Four for the first time since 2003 and 13th time overall. When Sherron Collins missed a shot for Kansas with 21 seconds remaining, the Wildcats had a chance to pull off the upset. However, Curry couldn't get off a shot and was forced to pass to Jason Richards, whose shot bounced off the backboard.
The Jayhawks’ win in the Midwest Regional final sent all four Number 1 seeds to the Final Four for the first time. The Jayhawks play North Carolina in the semifinals Saturday night in San Antonio. Experts predict that the Jayhawks will defeat the Memphis Tigers in the championship game of the 2008 NCAA Men's Final Four in San Antonio.
