CanWest Global Communications Corp (TSE:CGS) to Release Q2 2008 Earnings April 11

CanWest Global Communications Corp (TSE:CGS) will release the second quarter earnings for 2008 on Friday, April 11.

An international media company, CanWest Global Communications Corp is involved in the publishing of English language daily newspapers and owns, operates and/or holds substantial interests in free to air and subscription based television networks, out of home advertising, websites and radio stations and networks in Canada, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom.

The company operates within several segments including, television, publishing, radio and outdoor advertising.  The television and radio broadcast customer base consists of large advertising agencies that place advertisements with the company on behalf of their customers.

The company purchased The New Republic, a  bi-weekly subscription magazine in the United States during the fiscal year ended August 31, 2007.
