Shaw Communications Inc (NYSE:SJR) to Release Q2 2008 Earnings April 11

Shaw Communications Inc (NYSE:SJR) will release the second quarter earnings for 2008 on Friday, April 11.

A diversified Canadian communications company, Shaw Communications Inc is engaged in the provision of broadband cable television, Internet, Digital Phone, telecommunications services and satellite direct to home services to 3.3 million customers.  The company provides customers with entertainment, information and communications services, using a variety of distribution technologies.

The company is operated within two business segments, cable and satellite.  The cable segment generated 75%  of consolidated service revenue, while the satellite generated 25% of consolidated service revenue during the fiscal year ended August 31, 2007.  That same year the company acquired numerous cable systems, such as Whistler Cable, Grand Forks, Wood Lake, Lumby and Pender Island, all of which are in British Columbia, as well as Norcom Telecommunications Limited, which operates in Kenora, Ontario.
