Pearl Jam to Perform Live at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts June 30

Pearl Jam will be performing live at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield Massachusetts on Monday, June 30 at 7:30 pm.

Formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990, Pearl Jam has sold 30 million records in the United States and an estimated 60 million albums worldwide.  Considered one of the most influential bands of the decade, the band has outlasted many of its contemporaries from the alternative rock revolution in the early 1990s.

The band’s line up included Eddie Vedder (lead vocals, guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar) and Mike McCready (lead guitar).  The current drummer for the band is Matt Cameron of Soundgarden.

The band was formed after the end of Gossard’s band Mother Love Bone.  The band went on to break into the mainstream with its debut album, Ten.  Although they were one of the key bands of the grunge movement, many criticized the band for being a corporate cash in on the alternative rock movement.  The band was later recognized for their refusal of traditional music industry practices.  They refused to create music videos and boycotted Ticketmaster.  The Rolling Stone noted the band as having “spent much of the past decade deliberately tearing apart their own fame.”
