REM’s Accelerate Tops UK Charts

It’s been four years since REM released a studio album and the people in the UK responded to the recent Accelerate effort in positive fashion elevating it to the top of the charts.

REM bumped Duffy’s Rockferry, from the perch. The 23-year-old Welsh singer found herself in the number two slot, just in front of Leona Lewis and her album Spirit.

For REM their latest album comes just before they launch a massive world tour that begins in North America in late May and carries into Europe in early July.
