U.S. Authorities Arrest Ten People for Allegedly Spying for Russian Government

U.S. authorities have arrested ten people for allegedly spying for the Russian government, charging them with conspiring to act as unlawful agents of a foreign government.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice eight of the suspects were arrested on Sunday after a lengthy investigation led authorities to believe they had been involved in “long-term, deep-cover assignments” while on U.S. soil. Two more people were arrested on the same charges while an eleventh suspect remains at large.

The arrests were made in New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Massachusetts.
