Dick Vitale, a Broadcaster who brought basketball to millions of TV views, was selected to the Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday along with one of the most successful NBA coaches of all time, Pat Riley. Vitale was emotional during the announcement in
Vitale said in his speech that even though he can't run, jump or shoot, he has a tremendous passion for basketball. Even though Vitale was an NBA coach for a short period of time in the 1970s, he made his name as a college basketball analyst.
During the course of time, Vitale was known for using phrases such as "Get a T-O, baby," "You're a P-T-Per" and "Awesome, baby." He thanked Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight for being the driving force behind writing letters on his behalf.
