Eight Teens Arrested in Beating of Victoria Lindsay
Eight Lakeland, Florida teenagers have been arrested and are now facing charges related to the brutal beating in which they attacked 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay because they wanted to post a video on YouTube.
Six girls and two boys, ranging in age from 14-18, were involved in the attack of Lindsay on March 30 as she was arriving at friend’s house. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the eight teenagers had “They lured her into the home for express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the Internet.”
According to Grady the attack was sparked by an exchange of postings on MySpace as well as text messages. Lindsay suffered a concussion, damage to her left eye and left ear, as well as several bruises.
Following the 35-minute attack the group of teens forced Lindsay into a car and dropped her off at another location, warning her that if she spoke to police the next beating would be worse.
All eight involved in the attack were arrested and charged with felony battery and false imprisonment
