Rob Lowe and wife Sheryl Berkoff filed a lawsuit Monday against their former nanny Laura Boyce, claiming she told secrets and lies about their family.
The complaint filed Monday in a Los Angeles Superior Court asks for at least $1,000,000 in damages and charges Boyce with violating a confidentiality agreement, defamation and infliction of emotional distress on Lowe, Berkoff and their two sons.
Lowe and Berkoff allege that Boyce also conspired with another erstwhile family employee and third parties to "damage the Lowes' reputation." It is not specific as to what information Boyce has given out, but it is specified as very personal.
Boyce was hired to take care of their sons for most of 2007 before she quit in November, according to the complaint.
In addition, Lowe has filed two other separate breach-of-contract suits against "longtime" nanny Jessica Gibson and onetime family chef Peter Clements in Santa Barbara, also accusing them of violating confidentiality agreements they signed when they were hired.
Lowe charged a former employee with extortion as the unidentified employee threatened to accuse him and his wife of a "vicious laundry list of false terribles" if they don't pay her $1.5 million in hush money by the end of the week.
Lowe and Berkoff have been married since 1991.
