The National Hurricane Center announced Wednesday morning
Hurricane Alex is expected to make landfall in Mexico and Texas late Wednesday.
The center said the category 1 storm is “moving in no hurry” at 7 mph with
sustained winds at 80 mph.
Although Hurricane Alex was moving away from the massive
BP oil spill, it already hampered cleanup efforts as 12-foot waves hit the
Louisiana coast. The weather conditions sent oil-skimming ships back to shore.
