Terrafugia Transition, a Flying Car, Cleared to Fly

The FAA has cleared the first flying car, called the Terrafugia Transition, to hit the skies. The Terrafugia was created by a group of MIT engineers and is classified as a Light Sport Aircraft. Potential pilots need 20 hours of flight instruction to receive a license to fly the Terrafugia.

The vehicle is fully equipped to drive or fly. It gets 30 mpg on open road and can cruise up to 115 mph in the air. The Terrafugia Transition is currently priced at $194,000.
