2-Year-Old Beaten to Death with Video Game Controller, Mother’s Boyfriend Charged
2-year-old Darisabel Baez was pronounced dead late Monday evening, one day after she was beaten with a video game controller by her mother’s 26-year-old boyfriend.
Harve L. Johnson was arrested on Sunday evening and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and other charges. Johnson will now face additional charges following Baez’s death.
According to York, PA police Johnson beat Baez with a video game controller and after he girl went limp he tried to revive her in a tub of water. Johnson then brought the toddler to Neida E. Baez, the 19-year-old mother, who then called an ambulance.
Darisabel was taken to Hersey Medical Center but died late Monday night.
Neida, who admitted to police that her boyfriend had been abusive to her daughter in the past, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Additional charges could be filed.
