Real Time SPC for Microsoft Excel will assist manufacturing companies in meeting their ever increasing customer requirements for quality. Manufacturers large and small rely on measurement and statistical process control (SPC) to detect production shifts quickly and correct them.
Using modern digital gages, Excel and Real Time SPC for Excel, SPC can be as easy as clicking the data button on a gage. These gages offer a digital readout and data port. This can be connected to a PC interface. Often two or more gages are connected to a single PC.
Interface software reads the gage interface and acts like a typist to type the readings into any application including Excel. Then Real Time SPC for Excel:
· Parses the stream of gage readings into separate columns for each gage. This solves the problem of multiple gages on one interface.
· Uses the data to populate a capability worksheet with measures of Cp, Cpk, Pp, and Ppk. High quality products should have a Cp and Cpk of at least 1.33 (4-Sigma). This solves the problem of real time capability analysis.
· Uses the data to populate XmR Control Charts, histograms and normal probability plots for up to eight gages. This solves the problem of real time detection of production defects that cause waste, rework and lost profits. Users can perform stability analysis on the control chart by adding the QI Macros Lean Six Sigma software (www.qimacros.com/excel-spc.html).
· Real Time SPC for Excel also includes a template for a single gage.
Licensing is one per PC.
The software requires the addition of a keyboard interface such as MicroRidge's WedgeLink software (http://www.microridge.com/wedgelink_sw.htm). Together, Wedgelink and Real Time SPC for Excel cost less than $500.
