Teenager Killed in Shark Attack off Australia’s Eastern Coast

A 16-year-old Australian boy was killed on Tuesday when a shark attacked and killed the teenager while he was bodyboarding off the eastern coast.

According to police the teenager was just yards away from the shore when the attack occurred. The teenager’s friend, already out of the water, noticed his friend was in trouble and swam out to help. By the time he reached his friend the shark had already left two large bite marks, one to the leg and one to the body.

The friend brought the teenager back to shore but lifeguards and paramedics were unable to save the teen as he died from massive blood loss.

There has been no word as to what type of shark attacked the teenager but there had been reports of a bull shark in the area.
