NASCAR inspector Brienne Daivd was killed in a car accident Tuesday night. The 28-year-old was one of the few female inspectors for NASCAR. Davis travelled every weekend to different locations to inspect carburetors and manifolds on the racecars.
Davis was driving a truck on northbound Interstate 77 in Huntersville, North Carolina in rush hour traffic when the one-car accident happened. The truck flipped and broke into two pieces. It is unclear what caused the vehicle to flip. Davis was airlifted to a nearby medical center where she died of her injuries.
Davis joined NASCAR in 2004. “We are deeply saddened at the loss of NASCAR Sprint Cup official Brienne Davis. She was a key member of our team of inspectors and will be missed by the NASCAR community,” NASCAR said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.”
