American Airlines Cancels 900 Flights Leaving Passengers Grounded Again

Third Day of Delays Leaves Passengers Stranded

American Airlines cancels more than 900 flights for a third day snarling air travel and affecting more than 100,000 flights. The flight cancellations are due to FAA requirments to fix faulty wiring in hundreds of jets, marking the third straight day of mass groundings. Company executives offered apologies and travel vouchers, but passengers remain angry.

American, the nation’s largest carrier, has now grounded more than 2,400 flights since Tuesday, more than one in three flights canceled over the last three days.
Tori Milan, DestinationVillas.com’s editor, states that passengers have been stranded in airports overnight without their luggage or any real answers as to when these delays will end. Milan suggests extending vacations or business trips if possible to avoid the frustration of being stuck at the airport.
