Operation Smile Hosting Contest to Select Cover for Holiday Giving Catalog

Operation Smile, a worldwide children’s medical charity, is hosting a special contest on Facebook to select the cover for the 2010 Operation Smile Holiday Giving Catalog. Traditionally, the Holiday Giving Catalog features the images of children who suffered from cleft lips and cleft palates, and received new smiles on Operation Smile’s medical missions.

This year, four covers were created, each featuring photos of a beautiful child, some with their incredible new smiles. We need help. We are asking supporters to tell us: Which catalog cover do you prefer?

ust click here to select your favorite design or go to www.facebook.com/operationsmile. It’s a difficult choice, as each of these children is so inspiring. Operation Smile will decide on the 2010 cover by July 6, so please vote today. And be sure to fan and add Operation Smile as a friend on Facebook, for updates on medical missions and children whose lives are being transformed.

As a thank-you for all who participate, Operation Smile is entering participants’ names into a drawing to win a beautiful hardcover photo book, A Journey of Smiles, which highlights the organization’s 25th anniversary landmark medical mission. The photo book is personally signed by the founders, Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee.

Operation Smile will unveil the winning cover in October, so we are encouraging supporters to be on the lookout. You can visit the current online catalog at www.operationsmile.org/store.

Each year, more than 200,000 children around the world are born with a severe cleft condition – often they are unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places, these children are shunned and rejected. Since 1982, Operation Smile – through the help of dedicated medical volunteers and generous donations – has provided free surgeries to children around the world who suffer from cleft lips and cleft palates.
