Nude Photo of Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Fetches Big Bucks at Auction

After all the buzz surrounding the nude photo of France’s first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy the picture was able to fetch more than 30 times the anticipated amount, an astonishing $91,000.

The auction was held by Christie’s who facilitated the transaction for the 13-by-10 photo of Bruni-Sarkozy. The nude photo was taken in 1993 when Bruni-Sarkozy was one of the world’s most sought after models.

An anonymous bidder purchased the photo for a private collector. The money will go to support the Swiss charity Sodis, which provides clean drinking water to developing nations.
