AMCOL International Corporation operates in five segments: minerals, environmental, oilfield services, transportation and corporate. The Company's minerals segment mines, processes and distributes clays and products with similar applications for use in various industrial and consumer markets. AMCOL International's environmental segment processes and distributes clays and products with similar applications for use as a moisture barrier in commercial construction, landfill liners and a variety of other industrial and commercial applications. Its oilfield services segment provides both onshore and offshore water treatment filtration, pipeline separation, well testing, and other services for the oil and gas industry. The Company's transportation segment includes both a long-haul trucking business and a freight brokerage business for its subsidiaries, as well as third parties. Intersegment shipping revenues are eliminated in AMCOL International's corporate segment.
