Commerce City Couple Fight Over Which Gang Their child Should Join

Nineteen year old Joseph Manzanares was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment and domestic violence after attacking his girlfriend at a Hollywood Video store where she worked.  Manzanares allegedly knocked over video displays and a computer and threatened to kill his girlfriend.

The couple were arguing about which gang their four year old child should join.  Manzanares is a member of the Westside Ballers gang, while the mother, is a member of the Crips.  According to Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval, “They have different ideas on how a baby should be raised.  Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would claim.”

Manzanares ran out of the store when the police were called.  He was later arrested at his home and was transported to the Adams County Detention Facility.  He has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct on Tuesday and was sentenced a year of probation.
