R.E.M. to Appear at Sasquatch! Music Festival in Quincy, Washington on May 24

One day after kicking off their North American tour in Burnaby, British Columbia on May 23 rock legends R.E.M. will head to Quincy, Washington to take part in the Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater.

 

R.E.M. will be joined by Modest Mouse, The Breeders, The Whigs, Dead Confederate, The New Pornographers and more on the opening day of the three-day Sasquatch! Music Festival.

 

Following their stop at the Sasquatch! Music Festival R.E.M. will travel to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on May 29.

 

Formed in 1980 by Michael Stipe, Mike Mills, Peter Buck and Bill Berry developed a massive following in Athens, Ga. and quickly became a college radio station favorite. Their first few years were marked by success with singles such as Radio Free Europe and Gardening at Night and by the time they released their debut album Murmur in 1983 they were well on their way to stardom.

 

In 1987 they released the single “The One I Love” which brought them mainstream success and they’ve never looked back. Along the way they influenced bands such as Sonic Youth, Nirvana, the Replacements and several others.
