Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige Hit Las Vegas for Show at MGM Grand Garden Arena April 19

Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige kicked off their North American tour nearly a month ago and the two will be carrying the highly successful show to Sin City on April 19 as they perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

 

The tour, dubbed "Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Heart of the City," was touted in a press release as “the first time in more than 15 years that African American male/female [artists] of this stature have co-headlined a national concert tour.”

 

Jay-Z has won seven Grammy Awards and is the former president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. He is a co-owner of the NBA franchise New Jersey Nets as well as the upscale 40/40 Club. In 2007 he released his tenth album American Gangster which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

 

Prior to their stop in Vegas the two will be in Irvine, California at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on April 18. They will follow their Vegas show with dates in Oakland, Auburn Hills and a pair of shows in Chicago
