Father and Daughter Couple Okay with Incest

John and Jenny Deaves, of South Australia, are father and daughter and had a child together.  Jenny Deaves told Australia’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday night, “It’s everybody else out there in society that has the problem, we don’t have the problem.”  The couple had a 9 month old daughter together.

 “If you’ve got something to say, say it for Christ’s sake,” says the father, John Deaves.  “Don’t go attacking the kids or the car or anything else, its not the Australian way.”  He continues to say “We’re sure once people get to know us they’ll realize that we’re not going to pass on any disease to the, we’re not going to bite their head off and we’re not nasty terrible people.”

The two appeared on the show to talk about the death of their first child in 2001.  The four day old boy named Jackson died from a heart defect.  The couple claims that it had nothing to do with the genetics of the relationship. 

The Deaves were convicted of incest and put on three year good behavior bonds.
