A spokesman for Phil McGraw, Terri Corigliano, confirms the reports but says the employee who posted the bail “went beyond our guidelines.”
“We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show – assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodation, travel and necessities. In this case, certain staff members went beyond out guidelines,” Corigliano said.
Corigliano adds that McGraw “decided not to go forward with the story.”
