Radiohead to Perform Live at Liberty State Park in Jersey City New Jersey August 8

Radiohead will be performing live at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey on Friday, August 8 at 1:30 pm.

Radiohead will be performing live at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey on Friday, August 8 at 1:30 pm.  The band will perform at the venue again on the 9th before moving onto Susquehanna Bank in Camden, New Jersey on August 12.

 

Formed in Oxfordshire, England, the alternative rock band included Thom York (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, electronics), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, other instruments), Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass guitar, synthesizers) and Phil Selway (drums, percussion).  Since their creation, the band has released seven albums, selling over 23 million records throughout their career.

 

Although Radiohead was not immediately recognized with the release of their debut album, Pablo Honey, in 1993.  The band later gained recognition with the rerelease of their hit song “Creep.”  The band’s popularity only increased in the United Kingdom when they released their second album entitled The Bends in 1995.  Popularity soared worldwide with the release of OK Computer in 1997 and peaked with the release of Kid A (2000) and Amenesiac (2001).

 

The band then went on to release Hail to the Thief in 2003 and In Rainbows in 2007.  Prior to the release of In Rainbows, Radiohead created their own record label, EMI.  In Rainbows was available for digital download only, in which users could set their own price.
