Former NFL running back Herschel Walker released his new book "Breaking Free" Monday, in which Walker speaks about his bout with multiple personalities.
Walker, whom many consider with Bo Jackson to be the greatest running back in SEC history, admitted in the book that he suffered from Disassociative Identity Disorder (DID).
In a "Nightline" interview that will air Monday on ABC, Walker, 46, said he has been in treatment for eight years and believes the disorder is under control. He said writing the book was a form of therapy.
Walker and ex-wife, Cindy Grossman, were married for 16 years before she knew he had the disorder.
Grossman and Walker said one day it came to an apex when Walker altered personalities and pulled a gun on her.
