Mariah Carey address her constrictive marriage to Columbia Records boss Tommy Mottola in a single on her upcoming album, E=MC2. The album will be released on Tuesday.
Carey sings about her relationship with Mottola in the song "Side Effects", which features Young Jeezy and was produced by Scott Storch.
In a 2005 interview, Carey admitted to Allure Magazine that her marriage to Mottola caused her a lot of depression.
Carey said during the marriage that she wished she could have been kidnapped in order to escape Mottola. "I longed for someone to come kidnap me back then," said Carey. "I used to fantasise about that a lot. I'd have my pocketbook with me at all times in case I had to make an escape."
Mariah, 38, married with Mottola for five years. Carey met Mottola in 1988, at a party. In June 1993, Carey, then 23, and Mottola, 43, married in an Episcopalian ceremony followed by a lavish wedding reception in Manhattan.
Carey and Mottola separated in 1997.
