Classes at Coastal Carolina University were canceled Monday and students were urged to stay indoors because of a fatal shooting near campus.
The assailant has not been apprehended yet, while the victim has not been identified as a student yet.
Classes are canceled until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Students were urged to stay inside through a text message alert and a notice posted on the school Web site.
Coastal Carolina University, who has an enrollment of about 7,800 students, is located in Conway, S.C., which is about 15 miles northwest of Myrtle Beach.
