Hewa Bora Aircraft Crashes into Congo Village Killing 83

A Hew Bora Airways DC-9 crashed into a Congo village Tuesday. The aircraft left the Goma airport and was headed to the city of Kisangani when it crashed into a neighborhood near the runway.

The plane burst into flames and was still burning an hour after the crash. The United Nations and Red Cross were helping with the rescue mission. At least 83 people died in the crash.

 

The cause of the accident was still under investigation. The overloaded cabin is believed to be the reason behind the crash.
