The 2010 Major League Baseball National League All-Star Game roster has been unveiled with Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals tallying the most votes in the NL for the July 13 contest in Anaheim.
Pujols, making his ninth appearance, will be joined by teammate Yadier Molina who grabbed the most votes among NL catchers. David Wright of the NY Mets will be making his fifth appearance as the NL third baseman while Chase Utley of the Phillies took the most votes at second. Utley, who remains on the DL, will be replaced by Atlanta Braves’ second baseman Martin Prado.
Prado will be making his first All-Star Game appearance and will have his teammate Jason Hayward alongside him in the starting lineup. Hayward has put together a solid rookie season to make his first appearance while the LA Dodgers saw Andre Ethier earn his first trip. Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers earned his third trip to the Midsummer Classic to wrap up the outfield spots.
Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki had been voted by players as a reserve but will miss the game due to an injury, NY Mets shortstop Jose Reyes will be replacing him.
In all the National League has 14 players making their first All-Star Game appearance
There is still one more spot to fill on the National League roster with fans making the final decision. They will select from San Diego's Heath Bell, Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez, Cincinnati's Joey Votto, Atlanta's Billy Wagner and Washington's Ryan Zimmerman.
