At least 44 children and three adults were killed on Wednesday when the bus they were traveling in blew out a tire while driving over a bridge, plowed through a guard railing, and plunged into a canal some 20-feet below.
The accident took place in Vadodara, located in western India, as the children were heading to school to take their final examinations.
Several bodies remain missing as many of the children were unable to swim to safety.
