The divorce between Wayne Brady and wife Mandie Taketa was made official this week after years of separation.
According to papers filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Brady and Taketa married in April 1999 and officially separated in April 2006, citing irreconcilable differences. They have one daughter, 5-year-old Maile Brady.
"Mandie is my best friend. We still love each other and we are raising our beautiful daughter Maile together as a team," Brady said in a statement issued by his publicist, according to the Associated Press.
Brady and Taketa used a mediator, which helped them arrive at a final divorce settlement. The details about their child custody, child support and property-division arrangements were not made public.
