Illinois Earthquake Felt in Surrounding States

A 5.2 earthquake struck Illinois early this morning in the Wabash Valley Seismic Zone, which straddles the Illinois and Indiana state line.

There have been no reports of damages.

The quake was felt in Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri.

“You could hear a roaring sound and the whole motel shook, waking up the guests. We had pictures in the rooms fall down and some drawers open, but no major damage,” said the manager of a Super 8 Motel in Mount Carmel, Illinois.
