UK Court Sentences Six Men Convicted of Terror Support

Six men convicted of various charges related to the support of terrorism were sentenced in a UK court on Friday, each receiving prison terms of at least two years. The six men, who belonged to the extremist Islamic group Al-Muhajiroun, appeared at Kingston Crown Court following a ten-day delay caused by one of the defendants jumping bail.

Shah Jalal Hussain had jumped bail on April 8, the same day the jury began deliberations. The 25-year-old turned himself in at Kingston Crown Court ten days later and was sentenced to two years and three months for terrorist fundraising and breaking his bail.

Abu Izzadeen, real name Omar Brooks, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years for fundraising and four-and-a-half years for inciting terror overseas. Izzadeen used his London mosque to deliver speeches in 2004 that encouraged terrorists to engage in battle with U.S. and British forces in Falluja, Iraq.

Simon Keeler received the same sentence as Izzadeen after being convicted on the same charges.

After being convicted of inciting terrorism overseas Abdul Saleem was handed a three-years-and-nine months while Ibrahim Hassan was found guilty of the same charges and earned a sentence of two-years-and-nine-months.

Abdul Muhid was the sixth man sentenced and received two years for fundraising
