Judge Rules Children from Texas Polygamist Compound to Remain in State Custody

Judge Barbara Walther ordered all children taken from the Yearning for Zion (YFZ) Ranch in Eldorado, Texas remain in state custody while authorities continue to investigate allegations of abuse at the polygamist compound.

Walther found there was sufficient cause to keep the children from returning to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS) run compound. She ordered that all 416 children undergo DNA testing to determine their biological parents.

It is now up to the Texas Child Protective Services to find temporary placement for the children.
