Teenager Shot and Killed by Police after High-Speed Chase

Police shot and killed a New Jersey teenager after the young man stole a car, led the officers on a high-speed chase, and then fired at the troopers after exiting the car.

 

According to police two officers began pursuing Curtis Hayden Boyd Jr. after he was spotted speeding in South Jersey around 3:40 a.m. Boyd refused to pull over and after a chase that lasted several miles he rolled the car to a stop near a farmhouse in Mannington, N.J.

 

Boyd exited the vehicle and ran into a building and when the two officers pursued him he opened fire. Both officers were struck, one in the hand and wrist while the other was hit in the face and ear. One of the officers managed to return fire and struck Boyd.
