Fire Bill Maher Demands Made by American Life League

Bill Maher called Pope Benedict XVI a Nazi and equated the Catholic Church to an organization of pedophiles. While the HBO talk show host’s comments sparked outrage among Catholics and even those who have no religious affiliation it was Maher’s lack of an apology that has drawn even more criticism.

Now the American Life League has drawn up a petition to have Maher fired and created a Web site “FireBillMaher.com” and encouraged people to sign their online petition.

Judie Brown, president of American Life League, expressed why the organization now wants HBO to fire Bill Maher, “Not only did Maher fail to apologize, he stepped up his insult of Pope Benedict XVI by saying that he swore an oath directly to Hitler. Maher made no apology and persists in his slander of the pope and the entire Catholic Church, and for that he must be fired.”
