Perfect Sales Funnel Secret #1: Many "feeders" on the front end.
A sales funnel should have multiple "feeders" or ways of driving to it, once it is set up. What this means is, if your sales funnel has one feeder to begin with, you can start looking for more. For example, if my sales funnel begins with a squeeze page where I collect names and emails, and I am sending an email out to my list to drive to that page, that is one feeder.
But if I want to get more traffic to my sales funnel entry, then I need to set up more "feeders." There are many ways to set up feeders into a sales funnel, but a couple examples in this case might be to do a "JV" with another marketer and have them mail out for me, thus creating a whole new feeder into my sales funnel. Or, I could send out ads to ezines online, with a link driving back to the squeeze page, and that also would create another feeder.
There are a lot more ways to set up feeders for an online sales funnel, but I don't have time to list them all here.
Perfect Sales Funnel Secret #2: Giveaway on the front.
One of the best ways to get your prospects traveling happily down your sales funnel right from the start is to give away something on the front end of your sales funnel. This can be many things, depending on your business type, but think creatively. It can cost you little or nothing, and create a loyal customer who wants to buy more from you sales funnel in the future.
For example, with a physical model of sales funnel, a magazine might send prospects a free issue of a magazine, with an offer to lock in a subscription at a low price. With an online model of a sales funnel, you might give a free ebook or video series to prospects who just entered your sales funnel.
Perfect Sales Funnel Secret #3: Sales begin low and escalate.
After you've offered your prospects a free item on the front of your sales funnel, you should offer something at a low price to begin with. This makes it easy to step a little further down the sales funnel, and for your customers to consume and appreciate something more from you with little investment or risk. If your low-cost item is of high quality (as it should be) then your customer will be open to and even excited about taking you up on your next offer of a higher price point.
Every step further into you sales funnel can offer something of higher price (and greater benefit) and in this way you help your customer to enjoy greater benefits along your sales funnel, as well as crating an ongoing, trusting relationship. A steep jump in price, however, usually doesn't work that well.
Perfect Sales Funnel Secret #4: Enter continuity.
At some point along your sales funnel you will want to offer your customer a "continuity plan" of some sort, if you can. (If you don't have a continuity plan in your sales funnel, you may want to consider creating one). A continuity plan is just a monthly, weekly or yearly paid service (or in the case of a magazine, an item with ongoing delivery).
A continuity plan inside your sales funnel allows you to stabilize your income, bond more with your customers, and also offers more opportunities to sell other items in your sales funnel.
Perfect Sales Funnel Secret #5: Endless funnel.
The perfect sales funnel really has no end. So, for example if you take the magazine subscription model, you might be offering a subscription at $39 a year that is ongoing in itself, but then you may offer your readers a lecture series for $399, a workshop for $3,999 and so on. There really need be no end to your sales funnel.
This is because even if your sales funnel "ended" at the workshop for $3,999 but you have enough attendees that your workshop is a resounding success, you might consider offering those people a higher level, "mastermind group" at $10,000 a year. And so on.
So there are five elements to a "perfect" sales funnel. There are a few very easy ways to set up a successful sales funnel online, even if you've never done it before; and that is what I do everyday. These "online sales funnels" have brought me enormous success (to the tune of 3 million a year) in the past 5 years alone; and the truth is you could start one today.
