Kevin Durant has reportedly reached a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder that will extend his time in the city for an additional five years following the 2011-12 NBA season.
According to reports the new contract will pay Durant about $86 million with the actual figure being determined when the salary cap numbers are finalized on Thursday.
The contract extension does not include an opt-out clause after four years which means Durant should be in Oklahoma City through the 2015-16 season unless he is dealt.
Durant is coming off a solid NBA season in which he led the league in scoring with 30.1 points per game and averaged 7.6 rebounds per game while carrying the Thunder to the playoffs before falling to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
