Earth Day, the national holiday to celebrate the environment, is taking place Tuesday, April 22.
Although Earth Day is a day for everyone to celebrate, the holiday is especially geared toward kids as there are a myriad of activities for kids, such as word search, coloring pages, and worksheets.
Along with a word search, coloring pages and worksheets, teachers will accompany the activities with special Earth Day lesson plans, along with poems, printables and writing prompts for students.
The holiday has become more technological as there are online activities as well, such as websites with online gaming.
Some cities will host an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt today as well.
The long list of Earth Day activities will make it fun for kids to learn about the environment and ways to conserve it. This year it is very important as more and more talks of global warming service.
Earth Day, which happens annually on April 22, was founded by former U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-Wisc.) in 1970.
