One academic summer camp is providing summer enrichment for all types of students. SuperCamp, which teaches both learning skills and life skills to students in grades 4 through 12, is able to help kids who are struggling in certain areas as well as those getting straight A's.
While many academic summer camps are subject specific, SuperCamp provides students with learning tools that can last them a lifetime. These tools cover several major learning areas including reading speed, reading comprehension, math, creative and powerful writing, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students also acquire studying, memory and test-taking skills that help with every subject and SAT and ACT prep.
Even students with grades of 4.0 and higher benefit from SuperCamp with the equal emphasis the program places on life skills. The 10-day camp gives these students an opportunity to improve their communication, leadership and team-building skills. Students also become more focused, motivated and goal-directed and learn a lot about themselves at SuperCamp.
The SuperCamp Quantum Learning-based methodologies have been so successful over the program's 26 years that studies show 98 percent of students continue using the skills acquired at SuperCamp long after graduation. It's a reflection of the fact that the students learn how to learn while at camp, a skill that stays with them into college and beyond.
This summer, SuperCamp will be held at eight U.S. colleges throughout July and August. There are four programs for specific age/grade levels of students, including a college boot camp for incoming college freshmen called Quantum U. There is also a parent summer camp, Parent Weekend, for parents of students who attend SuperCamp, which provides parents with information to help them support their children when they return to school.
