Source of Red Lights Over Phoenix Remains a Mystery

The North American Defense Command, which monitors the sky for threats, said they don’t know the source of the lights. Officials from the Luke Air Force Base said none of their aircrafts were in the air Monday night. Air traffic controllers at Sky Harbor Airport say they seen the lights but do not know where they came from.

In 1997, a similar incident was reported in Phoenix. Residents said they seen lights in the sky that formed a V-shape.
